Privacy policy
ActBy is built so that your contracts, receipts, and documents stay on your phone. We do not run a server that holds them, and we cannot see them.
The short version
No account. No bank connection. No analytics. No advertising. No third-party trackers. Everything you enter or scan is stored on your device, and you can export or erase all of it from Settings at any time.
What ActBy stores, and where
The deadlines you track, the amounts at stake, your saved-money ledger, the name and address you type for cancellation letters, and your country and language settings are written to a database on your phone. They are not transmitted anywhere. If you delete the app, they are gone with it.
The permissions the app asks for
- Camera. Used only when you open the scanner, to photograph a contract, receipt, or document. Photos are read on the device and are not uploaded.
- Photos. Used only when you choose an existing image to read. ActBy receives the single image you pick and nothing else from your library.
- Notifications. Used to deliver the reminders you switch on. They are scheduled by your phone, not sent from a server, so they work offline.
- Calendar. Used only when you tap "Add to calendar" on an item, to create that one event. ActBy does not read your existing calendar entries.
Reading documents
Text recognition runs on your device. The image is never sent to us or to any other service, and ActBy does not keep the photograph after reading it.
Identity documents get one further restriction. A passport or ID card carries your name, document number, date of birth, and nationality in its machine-readable zone. ActBy reads the expiry date from it and nothing else. There is no face recognition and no biometric processing of any kind.
What we never do
- We do not connect to your bank or see your transactions.
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data, because we do not have it.
- We do not embed advertising or analytics software in the app.
- We do not cancel contracts on your behalf, so we never act in your name.
This website
The site sets no cookies and loads nothing from other companies: no fonts, no scripts, no beacons. The calculators run entirely in your browser, and the dates you type into them are never sent anywhere.
Your rights
European data protection law gives you rights of access, correction, deletion, and portability. Because your data lives on your device and we hold no copy, you exercise them directly: Settings has an export that hands you a machine-readable copy of everything, and a delete that erases all of it. There is no cloud backup and no undo.
If cloud sync is ever added it will be optional, will ask for your explicit consent, and this policy will be updated before it ships.
Children
ActBy is a tool for managing contracts and is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.
